We work with patients right up to birth across all our provided modalities and we believe getting treatment and advice over this often stressful and tiring period is a very worthwhile thing to do. Pressure and techniques are modified according to your stages of pregnancy and individual needs.

Okinawa Sports and Spinal can manage most musculoskeletal injuries and we are also appropriately qualified to be a primary source of contact. Please note if you suspect a fracture or have an current acute joint dislocation you should seek emergency care first.

Every case is different and we take the time time to make sure the approach is right for you.

Usually an initial appointment involves taking a detailed clinic history to try understand how your problem is affecting you, then we move onto an orthopedic assessment to try and see what joints are affecting and also do some further testing to help confirm a clinical suspicion. When appropriate we will also move on to manual therapy and exercise prescription in the first visit.

It’s worth allowing up to an hour for your first visit although simpler cases may not require that much time. We also take the time to discuss your goals so that the treatment plan becomes a collaborative approach.

Asia Phsyio has been operating in Japan for over 15 years and administers the Physical therapy arm of Okinawa Sports and Spinal . We stocks a range of knee and other support braces and can also provide fitting and after sales support. 

It’s important to note that Chiropractic and Physical therapy are not protected titles in Japan meaning that anybody can claim to be one so it’s worth asking for further information when you are choosing your therapist. It’s also one of the reasons there big price difference between clinics here in Okinawa. Many people claiming to have studied Chiropractic have not meet the standards provided 

All the Physical therapists and Chiropractors working at Okinawa Sports and Spinal are Western University trained professionals that hold have completed a high level of training to earn our titles. 

Due to the extended nature of our appointments we would prefer if you either made a booking online or by phone.

Okinawa Sports and Spinal is often fully booked and we may not able to assist you on a walk in basis. 

We have some flexibility and may be able to accomodate an appointment at a time that is not displayed on our online booking schedule. This get’s easier with a bit more notice so feel free to email us and we may be able to assist you further. 

Our sports massage therapist usually provides and oil massage so that a therapeutic pressure can be better target. This involves changing down to your underwear and the use of towel draping but we are happy to accommodate your needs and can also use a shiatsu pressure style massage over clothing if that’s more preferable to you.
